Privacy notice

1. Information we collect

For a learner, parent or guardian enquiry, we collect:

• your name, email address, mobile number and postcode;
• the requested learner stage, subject, lesson format, budget, timeframe and availability;
• any optional information you add about the tutoring request;
• consent records, referral page and campaign parameters used to understand which marketing led to the enquiry.

For tutor applications, we collect contact details, location, subject and year-level coverage, format, indicative rates, experience, qualifications, screening status and an optional professional link.

Please do not submit a child’s full name, health information, school records or other sensitive information through these forms.

2. Why we collect it

We use the information to:

• assess and respond to matching requests;
• identify potentially relevant independent tutors;
• review tutor applications and offer relevant lead opportunities;
• detect duplicate or automated submissions;
• measure campaign performance and improve the service;
• keep records of consent and handle complaints.

We do not use a matching enquiry to sell unrelated products and do not publish contact details in a public directory.

3. Sharing matching enquiries

With the adult enquirer’s express consent, a matching enquiry may be shared with no more than three independent tutors who appear relevant to the stated request. Those tutors may contact the enquirer about their tutoring service and may have paid EduConnect a marketing fee for the introduction.

EduConnect may also disclose information to hosting, security, analytics and professional service providers where reasonably needed to operate the service, subject to appropriate confidentiality and data-handling arrangements.

4. Overseas recipients

A matching enquiry will not be disclosed to a tutor outside Australia unless the adult enquirer has been told that the tutor is overseas and expressly agrees to that disclosure. Some infrastructure providers may process or store data outside Australia. EduConnect will update this notice with further location information where practicable as provider arrangements are confirmed.

5. Retention and security

We aim to retain unmatched matching enquiries for no longer than 12 months and tutor applications for no longer than 24 months, unless a longer period is reasonably required for an active relationship, dispute, fraud prevention or legal obligation. Records are stored with access restricted to the service operator and authorised infrastructure providers.

No internet service is completely secure. If an eligible data breach occurs, we will assess and respond to it in line with applicable Australian requirements.

6. Access, correction and complaints

You may ask to access or correct personal information, withdraw a matching request before it is shared, or make a privacy complaint. Email EduConnect.live@outlook.com or call 0431 764 442 to make a request. We aim to acknowledge privacy requests within seven business days.
